Kids Learn Bike Safety in Lakewood

Saturday's Bike Rodeo a success at Madison Park.

Children in Lakewood got the opportunity to lean about bike safety at the event on Saturday. They also had some fun.

Judging from the large turnout, the event was a success.

Kids, from ages 6 to 10, tested their bike skills at different activity stations at .

Some entered bike and helmet raffles. Other just scoped out the bikes at the event.

Lakewood Police Chief Timothy Malley — coordinated by neighborhood police officers and the city’s Division of Youth — was to “promote bicycle safety to both the child and the parent.”

The event will also to teach kids to ride their bikes a little better, he said.
