Cleveland Radio Host Charged With Drunken Driving in Lakewood

Chad Zumock crashes into a tree on Lake Avenue on Friday, appears in Lakewood Municipal Court later in the morning.

Cleveland radio personality and comedian Chad Zumock was arrested and charged with drunken driving in Lakewood early Friday morning, WEWS reports.

Zumock, a Lakewood resident, was driving east on Lake Avenue when his Chevy Cruze went into the westbound lane before striking a tree in the 13980 block of Lake Avenue, according to the Lakewood police report.

The 37-year-old co-host of the Alan Cox Show on WMMS, who lives just a couple blocks away from the incident, was not injured in the crash and refused to take a breathalyzer test, according to WEWS.

According to the police report, he was traveling 20 mph in a posted 35 mph zone.

Zumock was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to control and a seatbelt violation.

According to WEWS, Zumock’s bond was set at 10 percent of $3,000, and he was released.

Zumock had performed just hours before the crash in Cuyahoga Falls. His Hall and Oates cover band, I Can’t Believe it’s not Hall and Oates, is scheduled to play at the House of Blues Friday night.
