Blotter: Man Arrested For Trying to Steal From Parking Meters

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Loose change

A man was charged with theft after he was caught trying to knock over parking meters — to take the cash — in the 11800 block of Detroit Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. April 20.

Burglary

A man told police that someone tried to break into this home in the 2000 block of Robin Avenue at around 6 p.m. April 23. When the burglar realized someone was home, he took off down street toward Madison Avenue. Police were unable to catch up with the suspect.

Not naked, no mace

Police received a report a naked man running on Detroit Avenue spraying people with mace at around 2:45 a.m. April 20. Turns out, there was no naked man, and no mace.

Pit bull? Nope, a boxer

Police received a call about a reported pit bull in the 1200 block of Westlake Avenue at around 10:30 a.m. April 20. The dog in question turned out to be a white boxer.

Theft

A man was charged with theft after he stuffed merchandise into this coat the on Detroit Avenue at around 6 p.m. April 22. When police caught up with him a couple blocks away, he was also found with a hypodermic needle.

Burglary

A home in the 1500 block of Winchester Avenue was reported burglarized at around 3 a.m. April 19.
