UPDATE: Bartender Stabbed at Detroit Avenue Bar

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Bartender stabbed

A bartender was stabbed at the by a customer at 2:30 a.m. July 7, after the bartender told that the outdoor patio was closed.

The man, who used a knife in the violent attack, was arrested and charged with felonious assault and tampering with evidence a short time later on Hird Avenue.

Capt. Gary Stone of the said that the bartender and the customer began fighting, then the customer left.

Then, he came back with a knife.

"People do strange things when they drink," said Stone.

The bartender was taken to the emergency room at where he was treated and released for “multiple stab wounds."

Robbery

A man reached over the cashier’s counter at and took money out of the register and threw it on the ground, fought with and injured an employee before taking off on foot at around 3:30 p.m. July 8. He was last seen running north on Cove Avenue.

Receiving stolen property

A man was arrested for a felony charge of receiving stolen property after police stopped a stolen vehicle at the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and W. 117th Street at around 2:50 a.m. July 9.

Toy gun causes alarm

Police received a call that a man was sitting in a parked car at with a gun in his lap at around 6:30 p.m. July 6. When officers caught up to him just a couple blocks away, they learned it was only a toy gun.

Arm biting

A woman told police that her friend bit her on the arm at (at 13000 block of Madison) on July 5. Police are investigating the incident.
