Armed Robbery Suspect Gets Away

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Armed robbery

A man robbed the Circle K on W. 140th Street, just over the Lakewood border at around 11:45 p.m. Aug. 29. The man, described as a black man, wearing a black bandana and white shirt, took off on foot, running north on Wascana Avenue. He was last seen in the 2100 block of Elbur Avenue.

Scam on Newman Avenue

A man told a woman that he needed to talk to her in the backyard of her home in the 1500 block of Newman Avenue about a fence that needed to be torn down at around 3 p.m. Aug. 30. When she went back inside, she later noticed that a safe inside the home was missing. Police are investigating.

Drug trafficking

A man was charged with trafficking drugs following a traffic stop in the 11700 block of Madison Avenue at around 11:15 a.m. Aug. 28.

Burglary

A resident of a home in the 1600 block of Westwood Avenue reported that a number of items had been stolen from the house at around 4 p.m. Aug. 28.

Grand theft

A vehicle was reported stolen from the street in the 2200 block of Bunts Road at around 10 p.m. Aug. 28.

Man crashes into parked car

A motorist crashed his vehicle into a parked car in the 2100 block of Bunts Road at around 12:30 a.m. Aug. 29. Both cars were towed. No injuries were reported. 

Load of lumber dropped

A truck carrying lumber lost its load in the 14700 block of Lakewood Heights Boulevard at around 9 a.m. Aug. 29. The truck driver retrieved the dropped wood.

Package stolen

The contents of a UPS package were stolen from a home in the 17400 block of Hilliard Road at around 3:30 p.m. Aug. 30.
