St. Edward Slips Past Rangers For Lakewood Community Cup Victory

The Eagles took the Cup back because last year's contest ended in gridlock with a 0-0 tie. The Rangers had won the rivalry in 2010, 2-1.

In a heated rivalry, escaped Lakewood Stadium with a 1-0 win over to take the Community Cup in their only scheduled soccer match-up of the season on Thursday night.

There were several penalties called in Thursday's match. The entire first half was tied, 0-0. The deadlock was finally broken about 15 minutes into the second half when a St. Edward striker scored the game winner.
