Eagles Outlast Wildcats in 'Holy War'

St. Edward defeats St. Ignatius in an intense fourth-quarter comback, 20-13, on Saturday.

St. Edward defeated St. Ignatius in an intense fourth-quarter comeback, 20-13, in the 50th-annual rivalry game at Byers Field in Parma on Saturday night.

Trailing most of the game, the Eagles didn't let the Wildcats 7-point lead deter them entering the final quarter.

Then, minutes later, a touchdown reception by Adam Young tied the game, and then David Dowell's touchdown recption put the game away.

The Eagles defense sealed the victory.

Not only did they beat St.Ign in football but in district finals in soccer the eagles beat No.1 St.Ign 2-1 in a 6th kick shotout. Plus St.Eds JV football team went undefeated, the Gold Freshman Football team went undefeated with 9 shutouts. Go Eagles all the way to the state championship
