McKinley School

Wasn't McKinley school renovated just a few years ago? Millions spent? Am I mistaken? Now it's being sold to tear down and construct homes?  Why not save the building and convert it into apartments or condos, like West Tech? The building is solid and fits in with the neighborhood?
