Community Corner

Come As You Are!

West Shore Church, recently relocated to 14321 Detroit Road, Lakewood, is a casual-dress place to worship on Sunday mornings at Noon.  Think:  "Come to church on Sunday and bring your "HOLEY" jeans.  There is an entrance on the west front and on the Lincoln St. side of the Lakewood Baptist Church.  They share the facility.  West Shore meets on the lower level, but also holds meetings at their West Shore office location at 13702 Detroit Road.  Supported ministries are:  Youth Group, Rangers Boy's Group/MPac Girl's Group, Children's Church, Love Inc., and a Van Ministry.  Love Inc. connects those in need with appropriate resources.  Pastor Craig Butler and his family and Pastor Aaron both serve and celebrate with contemporary music by several musicians and vocalists who lead the congregation with lyrics that are projected.  West Shore Church practices Open Communion and folks of any religious background or affiliation are encouraged to participate.  The Sunday I attended, they were having a monthly Second Sunday Lunch, Pot Luck Meal, and invited all to stay and share.  Bible Study is held on Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the West Shore office location noted above.  They will provide a ride if needed--call 216-221-8101.  "Attend and be blessed."  Many folks welcomed me around the coffee table before and afterr the service.  Pastor Craig shared some of his experienes in the mission field abroad.  They provide a table full of literature about the Assemblies of God including The Gifts & Fruit of the Holy Spirit and Our 16 Doctrines.  Website:  www.westshorelakewood.com and E-Mail:  office@westshorelakewood.com.  Visitors are gifted with a lovely gift tote, the largest ever.  This is a small and focused and growing community with much to offer a Christian along his walk in faith.  There are many opportunities to learn and grow at West Shore.
