Eugene "Gene" Myslenski, 95, Former Principal of Lakewood and Cleveland Heights High Schools
He was a football star at Western Reserve University in the mid-1930s.
Eugene “Gene” W. Myslenski, a Western Reserve University football star of the 1930s, who died April 25 at age 95, served as principal at in the 1970s and at in the late 1960s.
Myslenski, a graduate of East High School in Cleveland, was an All-Big Four guard for the Western Reserve Red Cats before graduating from WRU in 1938.
He later served as an assistant coach for his alma mater and longtime secretary of the Case Reserve Athletic Club. He was inducted into the Case Western Reserve Varsity Athletics Hall of Fame in 1978.

The World War II Army veteran coached and taught many student-athletes, and belonged to numerous sports and education-related associations over the years.
Myslenski was principal at Lakewood High School until his retirement in 1976. Prior to that, he was principal at Cleveland Heights High from 1965 to 1969.

His wife, Adella U. (nee Sutkus), is deceased.
Myslenski is survived by his sons, Skip of Chicago, Paul of Austin, TX, and Jack of Highland Heights; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brothers, Richard and Frank.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at , 6850 Mayfield Road, Gates Mills.
