Great News for Our Good Neighbor; Edgewater public marina will receive facelift funds from storm battered condition
COLUMBUS - As your State Rep. Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) I am pleased to announce the release of over $1.5 million in state funds for emergency repairs to storm damaged facilities at Edgewater Marina. The Department of Natural Resources initially sought the funds on an emergency basis to remove debris, repair the breakwall and dredge the area.

"Lakefront State Park is an important generator of economic activity in our district,” I said in a statement issued today. “The repairs are much needed, and I’m happy that we get this done in a timely manner to be up and running in anticipation of the return of boating season.”
Edgewater Marina has the capacity for about 280 vessels. The marina and surrounding area sustained extensive damage as a result of the extreme weather conditions created by Hurricane Sandy on the shores of Lake Erie. An Ohio-based construction company, Kokosing Construction, already has equipment in the area to move ahead with the project before visitors and residents begin putting their boats in the water this spring. The project is expected to be completed within 70 days, depending on the weather. An additional $75,000 has been approved to ensure contingencies do not delay necessary work.
