Puma Yoga Encourages Seva (The Selfless Act of Giving) Through Giving Tree

Puma Yoga is supporting two local organizations through their holiday Giving Tree.

This holiday season, Puma Yoga will be working with two local organizations to help those less fortunate. The goal is to encourage both yogis and local residents to practice Seva or “the selfless act of giving.”

The Puma Yoga Giving Tree began as a way to give back to others who are experiencing financial difficulties during the holiday season. For the past several years, we specifically chose organizations that are close to home so we can help families (and pets) right here in our own backyard.

The City of Lakewood Division of Youth is one worthy organization that is teaming up with Puma Yoga.  Stop by the Puma Yoga studio located at 15602 Detroit Avenue and choose an ornament from the Giving Tree. A specific child’s wish list is included with each ornament to make shopping easier. All you have to do is make a purchase, wrap the gift and deliver it to Puma Yoga by 12 noon on December 17. This is a simple way to make this holiday season special for a local child in need.

Puma Yoga also recognizes that the furry friends at the Lakewood Animal Shelter also need our help at this special time of year. There is a specific list of items the shelter needs posted on the bulletin board at the yoga studio. This list can also be accessed online at the Citizens Committee for the Lakewood Animal Shelter website. New, unused items for the four-legged pals should be delivered to Puma Yoga by 5:30 p.m. on December 22 for proper distribution.

All of us at Puma Yoga thank the community in advance for their support of this charitable effort. It is gratifying to think that with our help, a cat will find comfort in a new blanket or a lonely dog might get excited about a new chew toy.

The act of giving selflessly, whether by providing monetary donations, giving our time or serving with our talents is called Seva. We at Puma Yoga are thrilled to be a part of making someone’s life more joyful and happy!

For additional information or to pick up an ornament from the Giving Tree, please stop by Puma Yoga at 15602 Detroit Avenue or call the studio at 216-221-6265.
