Friendly Reminder to Dog-Walkers in Lakewood

Attention dog-walkers in Lakewood: Be respectful!

This blog is directed to the older gentleman who walks his dog down my street twice a day (Morrison Avenue).

You wear a towel around your neck and you have an older Irish Setter who looks like a beautiful soul.

I love dogs and I have three of them.

I also walk my dogs in my neighborhood. But I follow three basic rules:

  1. My dogs are never allowed to walk on people's front yards.  Sidewalks and tree lawns only.  People's front yards are their private property, not yours.
  2. Pick up after your dog.  I've seen you on a few occasions leave your dog's deposit on other people's private property.  I can't imagine letting my boys poop on someone else's yard and leaving it.
  3. When you do pick up after your dog, NEVER throw it in someone else's garbage.  I just watch you do that a minute ago and couldn't believe you had the gall to put your dog's bowel movement in another person's garbage can.  You take it home and put it in YOUR garbage can. You obviously have no regard for other people because if you did, you wouldn't be breaking these three simple rules every day.

Please consider other people when walking your dog, would you want all of us doing this to you and your property?
