LHS Girls XC Team Advances to Regionals

 The Lakewood High School Girls' Cross Country Team captured Third Place at the OHSAA Div. 1 District Cross Country race held at Lorain County Community College on Sat. Oct. 29th. The first team in 10 years to qualify for the Regional Meet, the Rangers finished with 106 points edging out Magnificat with 109 points for fourth place. Rocky River claimed the Div. 1 District Team Title with 28 points followed by Amherst Steele finishing second with 95 points.

     Competing for the Rangers were Seniors Maeve Christie, 7th place, Alyssa Hasman, 10th place, Grace Latham, 14th place, Yasmeen Shafik 36th and Anna Riddle 39th. Senior Gabby Wise and Freshman Olivia Rodriguez also competed for the Rangers.

     The top four teams and top 16 individuals qualify for the OHSAA Regional Meet being held next Sat. Oct. 26th at Hedges Boyer Park in Tiffin, OH. The Div. 1 Girls Race will go off at 12:30pm.
