Boatman wins District Title

The LHS Boys Cross Country Team finished up its 2013 Season with a 5th place team finish at the OHSAA Div. 1 District Meet on Saturday Oct. 19 at the Lorain County Community College Cross Country Course, narrowly missing the top 4 to advance as a team to the Regional Cross Country Meet being held at Hedges Boyer Park in Tiffin on Sat. Oct. 26th.

LHS Senior Nick Boatman was the Div.1 Boys District Champion, winning the race with an impressive time of 16:49. With a margin of victory of more than 20 seconds on the rain soaked and muddy course, Nick moves on to the Regional Cross Country Meet as an individual and will race at 3:00pm on Saturday Oct. 26th where he will have the opportunity to race and qualify for the OHSAA State Cross Country Meet that will be held Sat. Nov. 2 at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, OH.

Also scoring for the Rangers were Senior Nick LaCerva 23rd, Junior Bely Stockman 24th, Sophomore Jacob Gregory 29th and Senior Aidan Howells 37th. Freshmen Ty'Saun Blevins and Henry Bish also competed for the Rangers.

Nick Boatman gets our "Runner of the Week". Nick's decisive win at the District Cross Country Meet confirms that he is one of the best Cross Country Runners LHS has had in its storied history dating back to 1928. An incredible hard worker, Nick has poised himself to be a strong contender to advance to the OHSAA State Cross Country Meet.
