MORTON SUBOTNICK @ MOCA CLEVELAND
Morton Subotnick is a living legend in electronic music. In the early
1960s, Subotnick collaborated with instrument designer Don Buchla
to create one of the first modular synthesizers. He has influenced
countless musicians and multimedia artists, such as Charlemagne
Palestine, Rhys Chatham, Lois Vierk, and video artist Lillevan. Subotnick is now pioneering works that offer musical tools to young children.
For his concert at MOCA Cleveland, Subotnick will perform a new work titled, From Silver Apples of the Moon to A Sky of Cloudless Sulphur IV: LUCY, an hour long piece that repurposes previous work while incorporating the latest advances in music technology. This concert at MOCA Cleveland is Subotnick’s only performance in the region, and it is presented in collaboration with the TIMARA department of Oberlin College.
Price: $15 for Students / $20 for MOCA Members and Seniors / $25 for Non-members
