Community Corner

All You Need is Love (and food)

Dozens of area musicians will take the stage at the Second Annual All You Need Is Love (and food). This community event, which also celebrates the music of The Beatles, will benefit the hunger relief organization Trinity Lakewood Community Outreach (TLCO).

Founded in 2009 as the volunteer community outreach arm of Trinity Lakewood Church, the mission of TLCO is fostering a healthier community through collaboration, education and meeting basic needs.  TLCO accomplishes its mission by providing four community hot meals each month, a free monthly produce distribution (between June and November), a community garden that supports the hot meal program, food preservation workshops, and community-based health and wellness programing, supporting our neighbors in need.

Several area musicians will perform the music of The Beatles in support of TLCO at the event this year.  Confirmed musicians include Alexis Antes, Avin Baird, the Cleveland School of Rock “Headliners,” Paula Connor, Carol Diebold, Charlie Mosbrook, Rachel Shortt, Michael Dooley, John McGrail, Sheela Das, Chris Frohring, Jim Kueber, Meg & Chad, Mike Pereira, John Pistone, Gary Rice, Gabrielle Schimpff, Beth Woyshville, Bobbie Hendrick, Terrell Williams and Geary Hughes. Musicians will perform up to 3 of their favorite songs by The Beatles as individuals or in small groups.

Admission is a suggested $10.00 donation plus a canned food item. Children under 10 are admitted at no cost.  While all donations are appreciated, preferred food donations include peanut butter, canned tuna, canned fruits/vegetables, cereal and beef stew.  The Masonic Temple will be set up coffeehouse-style for a casual, relaxed evening.  Lakewood’s own Root Café will provide a coffee and espresso bar as well as delicious home-baked sweets and treats.  Artist Billy Nainiger is donating Beatles-themed artwork to be auctioned off at the event as well.  All proceeds will support the hunger relief efforts of TLCO.
