Lakewood OH – December 21 2012 -Cleveland based musician Diana Chittester is asking the Cleveland community to get involved this holiday season. On December 21st at Lakewood Public Library, Diana will be performing on the library’s front porch from 9am to 9pm in efforts to draw attention to this 12 hour donation drive.  During the 12 hours Diana and her business partner Jessica Rosenblatt will be collecting donations of any kind to be given back to a range of charities hoping to make this the biggest donation drive Lakewood has ever seen.

Representatives from different charities including the Salvation Army, Cleveland Foodbank, Cleveland APL and the AIDS Taskforce will be on site throughout the day to collect donations specific to their cause.  All other donations will be distributed personally to the charity of choice (to be labeled on bag or box).  The Cleveland Foodbank’s most needed item is cash and the organization has asked for monetary contributions to support hunger relief efforts this winter season.  “For every $1 donated, the Cleveland Foodbank can help provide four nutritious meals,” says Caroline Weir, a representative of the Cleveland Foodbank.  Lakewood Drug Mart has kindly donated decorations, Caribou Coffee has donated coffee throughout the day and Angelo’s Pizza has donated a heater to musician, Diana Chittester.  Great Lakes Brewery, The Sweet Spot, and a Columbus based artist have donated items to be raffled off to people as they come by to donate items or money.  “It’s time to get involved and make a difference, let’s not focus on what we want but what we can give.” – Diana Chittester.

Chittester’s artist run record label, Fighting Chance, was established in 2011 to give her freedom in her musical career.  Awareness and fundraising campaigns for groups such as PFLAG and VegGala have defined the purpose of ‘Fighting Chance’.  Diana spends time talking with High School students promoting positive messages and personal stories, being a role model, and more recently being an avid supporter of Vegan and Animal Rights groups. “Not being able to change everything is no longer an excuse to do nothing” says Diana during a recent speech. Fighting Chance goes far beyond just music, giving her a platform to become an activist to take a ‘hands on’ approach to help others that don’t have a voice or the opportunity to do so.

You can bring your donation to Lakewood Public Library, located at 15425 Detroit Ave, on December 21st from 9am to 9pm. For additional information please visit www.dianachittester.com or
