Escape! A Civil War Role-Play Event

For students in fifth through eighth grade
WEDNESDAYS, SEPTEMBER 25 – OCTOBER 23, 7:00 P.M. – 8:30 P.M.
A realistic journey back in time as an escaped slave looking for freedom… Take an active role in American history as a hero or heroine of the abolitionist movement and the Underground Railroad! After learning about your past and the skills you need to survive, participants will meet at the Rocky River Reservation in the Metroparks to attempt their harrowing escape to freedom up north! This team-based, five-week program focuses on the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War and is done in partnership with Women in History, a non-profit corporation dedicated to the education of all people through the dramatic re-creation of lives of notable women in U.S. history.
