Inn the Doghouse Moves Pet Care to Lakewood

Upscale dog beds, cat suites, webcams available to help pet owners on the go.

Pet owners have a new option to leaving their dog or cat home alone in Lakewood.

Inn The Doghouse recently moved from Cleveland to Lakewood. The building at 1548 W. 117th St. has more than 7,200 square feet of dog daycare, pet overnights and Pet Spa with amenities that appeal to the "upscale, urban client."

Owner Whitney Callahan recently announced a grand reopening celebration noon to 5 p.m. June 30 with live music, food, photos with Chomp the Cleveland Browns mascot and free nail clippings and canine massages.

The Colin Dussault Acoustic Side Trio will provide music, and photographer David Uschold will take pictures with Chomp. Proceeds go to benefit Project Noah, a pet welfare organization.

Inn The Doghouse overnight guests play all day in daycare; all dogs receive behavioral evaluation by a canine concierge before they are accepted. The new facility provides upgrades including 14 high-speed webcams, a quieter, more comfortable lobby, two outdoor areas with Pet Grass (including a separate small dog outdoor area), and an indoor dog park with Pet Grass.

It also has four cat suites with perches in front of large windows with views outside. In additional to traditional dog boarding options, clients can now choose more luxurious overnight accommodations.  Its upscale dog suites have dog beds and webcams, allowing clients to watch their pets 24/7 from their computer or smart phone.

Inn The Doghouse, with 13 employees, was one of the first dog daycares in Northeast Ohio.  This move allowed Inn the Doghouse to upgrade its facility to meet the growing demands of pet owners.
