Holy Crackers, it's Been Hot in Lakewood

New Lakewood resident trying to beat the heat.

Yes,living in a building from 1916 is really amazing, but of course there's no air conditioning.

I grew up with the luxury of central air, a luxury I knew at some point I'd miss, just not this soon! That's always the thing about Cleveland weather. There's not transition. We go from winter to summer in less than a week.

I'm definitely more of a summer person. I love the heat. But not the super heat we are experiencing now. Even for me that ninety degree weather was too intense.

Just when I thought all was lost and I'd be left in a pool of sweat for the week an angel arrived to my house. A heavy, tricky to install, energy efficient angel. My boyfriend had never installed one before and it basically took all day to get it just right. We're on the top floor of our building so we really wanted to make sure it was secure. We both really wanted to feel that cold air coming out of it, so it'd be a shame to turn it on only to watch it fall into the alleyway between our building and the next.

Although, if it happened to fall on our neighbor's motorcycle or truck which he illegally parks in said alleyway it'd be at least a little less of a shame. Maybe it'd teach him not to park in the exit of what is already a cramped parking area...seriously, how rude is that? You don't own that portion of the alleyway. Stop parking there. I wonder if I can have him towed? It's just so much safer to go out the proper exit. One, you don't have to worry about someone coming in while you're going out. Two, it's easier to see if cars are coming down the street from there. I've only been able to exit from the actual exit twice in a month. Those were both very enjoyable experiences. So honestly, if you are parking in a place you know isn't rightfully yours, do the world a favor and stop being so egocentric. Let the people who pay to use that area (the people in the building next to you!) actually use it.

Don't be a jerk.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the cool down that's coming. My bike is all set for the season. I think my first bike ride around Lakewood will be Friday. So if you see a girl on a green bike with a big seat, pedal breaks, and long handles bars, please don't honk as I am very jumpy and will most likely crash.
