Bike for Beck: Get in Shape for the Big Event

Ride + Workout wants to get you in shape for the Bike for Beck event!

The Bike for Beck event is just around the corner. And you're probably thinking: I'm in no shape to ride a 2 mile race, let alone a 60 mile one. No problem. We've all been there. Let's face it, once the weather turns cold many of us retired our bikes to the garage and since then, maybe the tires have deflated a bit, there's a few spiders who have taken up occupancy on the frame, and you know those first few rides of the season are going to hurt a bit.

Luckily, Ride + Workout wants to get you in shape just in time for Bike for Beck on Saturday May 19. And the best part is, you'll be raising money for Beck Center for the Arts at the same time!

Ride + Workout will host their second and final Bike for Beck charity ride on April 29th, 2012 at 4 p.m. Instructor Tom Einhouse will lead the 60 minute session filled with hills, flats, sprints, and the motivating music we all know we need to keep us going!

“As an independent, local business, Ride + Workout is happy to support the community of Lakewood through The Beck Center for the Arts. At Ride + Workout, we believe that breath and movement is the cornerstone of health, happiness and creativity,” said Ann Weixel, owner of Ride + Workout.

There are still bikes available, but hurry, spots fill up fast! Participants are encouraged to register online at www.rideandworkout.com. The suggested donation is $15 per rider, which can be paid by cash or check payable to Ride + Workout.

Registration after May 1st will be $40 and will also include an event t-shirt, while supplies last.

Still don't feel confident you could ride 12, 25, or 60 miles? Then get ready to use your creativity and register to be in the ½ mile Bike for Beck parade with the theme “Music in Motion”! Kids ages 12 and under are free, and participants over the age of 12 are only $5.

As always, stay tuned for more updates on Bike for Beck.
