White Cloud Studio Moving to New Home

The Pilates studio slated to open for classes in the former Bonne Bell building, at 1414 Riverside Drive, on April 1.

One of the first Pilates studios in Northeast Ohio is moving into a new location in Lakewood.

White Cloud Studio is slated to open for classes in the former Bonne Bell building, at 1414 Riverside Drive, on April 1.

Pilates — “done right” — builds strength and flexibility, helps reduce pain and prevent injury, and simply reinvigorates the tired body, said White Cloud Studio founder Troy McCarty.

“There is a vibrant and growing market for Pilates instruction, both private and group classes,” said McCarty in an email. “Women and men of all ages are looking for a health and fitness program that is safe, grounded in science, and proven to work to enhance wellness and well-being.”

The studio had been located at 18115 Detroit Avenue since 1995.

White Cloud’s new facility — adjacent to Georgetown Restaurant and the new jazz club Vosh — Pilates enthusiasts will find extensive reformer classes, along with the Balanced Body Barre program.

McCarty said, while fun and energetic, that program is based in Pilates and Ballet principles.

“At the bar, you don’t have to be a dancer to reap the benefits of a low-impact, highly effective work-out for muscles, leaving them lean and long,” added McCarty, who trained as a ballet dancer and discovered the power of Pilates during his training.
