We thought we'd give you the breakdown of local stuff to do — and not to do — on the national holiday.

Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and while many have the day off, some spots are still open.

There’s no classes at the today, however the high school is still hosting the Lakewood Invitational JV wrestling tournament, starting at 9 a.m.

However, the event “Share the Dream: A Celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.” is set in the children’s department at the library, to “celebrate the of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through books, songs and craft.”

As part of the library’s MLK Jr. Day of Service, participants will create cards, which will be distributed to local nursing home residents. There is no need to register for the event in advance.

Many Lakewood businesses are expected to remain open, but banks will be closed for the holiday.
