Thirstees on Madison Avenue Closing its Doors

The custom-designed rhinestone apparel store expected to close Feb. 1, but the business will still be available online.

Thirstees Little Bling Shoppe is closing its doors Feb. 1 after about one year in business on Madison Avenue.

Looking to focus on her online business, the owner of the custom-designed rhinestone apparel boutique said she plans to keep her business online — where it got its start.

“This is not a case of another Lakewood business gone bad,” said owner Renee Lavelle in her blog post on Lakewood Patch. “(It’s) simply a decision on my part.”

In her second brick-and-mortar venture, Lavelle said she’d hoped to have an extension of her online business.

The specialty store specialized in tank tops, T-shirts, hoodies, aprons and accessories for sports, cheer squads, dance teams, weddings and bridal parties.

“I fell in love with the little pink shoppe on Madison Ave and because the rent was reasonable and the neighborhood was charming,” she said in her blog, “I jumped on it.”
