Taste of Lakewood Event Set for June 5

Organizers say tickets are selling out fast.

When it comes to food, people in Lakewood mean business.

Around ever corner there is a popular restaurant. Some are featured in “best of” lists in area publications, others are not as well known.

But on June 5, many of those Lakewood establishments will be under one roof for the eighth-annual Taste of Lakewood — 22 restaurants to be exact.

The event, hosted by the , will take place at the Clifton Club from 4 to 7 p.m.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Patty Ryan said the is a cozy venue, but that means only 450 people can attend.

Tickets are $30, but they are expected to quickly sell out. There will be favorites such as , and ; along with some newcomers such as , ,  and LaBella Cupcakes.

“It’s a nice eclectic mix of restaurants,” Ryan said. “We have on the high end, and we also have chains that participate.”

Small plates will be served, but they are all-you-can-eat.

The will also be raffles, with prizes that include fine wines, gardening equipment, T-shirts; and beer pong. For the second year, is donating two planters each containing 20 gift cards from the participating restaurants.

A portion of the proceeds from the event benefit the chamber’s annual scholarship breakfast.

There will be tent seating outside, so organizers are hoping the weather cooperates.

“I don’t want to say anything, but we usually really luck out each year with the weather,” said Ryan.
