Residents Say Farewell to St. Paul Lutheran Church

100-year-old church on Detroit Avenue comes down to make way for a CVS Pharmacy set to be built this fall.

Lakewood residents slowed down or stopped Thursday to watch as the on Detroit Avenue was reduced to rubble.

The church has had a presence on the corner for more than 100 years.

Most were sad to hear the news of the church’s demolition, which will make way for the construction of a this fall.
