MODA Closes Its Doors on Madison Avenue

Owner said that the family-owned business is closing because the family is moving out of Lakewood. A new store is expected to open soon.

MODA, a locally owned resale shop, has closed its doors on Madison Avenue.

The signs have been removed from the front of the building, and much of the store’s inventory has been cleared out.

Gabrielle McKernan, who co-owned the store with her mother, Paula, said that the business is closing because the family is moving out of Lakewood.

“My brother is graduating high school and we decided it might be too far of a drive once we move,” she said. “So we decided to sell the business.”

McKernan said a business called Imagine That, a store with similar business concept, is expected to open at the location.
