McDonald's Representatives Coming to City Hall Tonight

During tonight's special Architecture Board of Review work session, the fast food reps will unveil initial concept designs and building plans for a McDonald's that could soon replace the Detroit Theatre and its adjoining storefronts.

At 6:30 tonight in the City Hall auditorium, the Architectural Board of Review will hold a special work session to hear a presentation from who want to build a new burger joint on the existing location.

The initial building concept and design plans won’t be unveiled until the meeting, but it is known that – if McDonald’s purchases the $700,000 property – then it would demolish the now defunct theatre and its adjoining storefronts.

No action will be taken at the work session, but the review board will offer feedback and work to influence how the structure would be built, assistant director of planning and development Dru Siley said.
