“We want to expand those offerings and make sure we are continuing to be relevant to our members and the business community in Lakewood,” she said.

“Lakewood is a dynamic, growing, vibrant city with a lot to offer. I want to be sure the Chamber is providing the members the things they need for their continued growth.”

Helbig said she welcomes input from the business community.

“I can't promise we'll be able to meet all ideas and needs, but we'll take everything into consideration,” she said.

With the chamber’s mission to advance the commercial, industrial and professional interests of the community of the city, executive director Patty Ryan said that Helbig is a perfect fit.

"We’re so pleased that Diane is going to be our chairperson for the upcoming 2011-12 fiscal year,” Ryan said. “She brings a vast array of talents to the organization, and we have great confidence that she will do a great job.

“The organization is in very capable hands.”
