Laskey and Costello Unveil New Location

The accounting firm marked its grand opening at its new space on Detroit Avenue that was most-recently home to Revelations Hair Salon.

Tim Laskey started his career, with his wife Patti, in a small, second-floor office above Normile Insurance in 1985.

On Thursday, after more than 20 years at their Madison Avenue location, they’re officially back on Detroit Avenue.

But now, it’s a much bigger family business.

Laskey and Costello accounting firm marked its grand opening at the new space at 15514 Detroit Avenue that was most-recently home to Revelations Hair Salon.

In the new 4,500-square-foot space, Tim and Patti Laskey are joined by their daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Will Costello.

They all greeted members of the community on Thursday for an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

"It’s a great spot, we love it here on Detroit,” Tim Laskey, adding that with nearly a dozen employees, the business outgrew the Madison Avenue space.

“This location is really going to work out well for us. Lakewood is great for business. This only worked because we’ve been successful here.”

Laskey and Costello made the move a couple months back, but spent the time renovating the 100-year-old building.

The hardwood floors have been restored; the front porch rebuilt; and new counters, light fixtures and moldings helped to bring new life to the old space.

“We’re happy to be back on Detroit Avenue,” said Patti Laskey. “I love it here.”

Tim Laskey and his daughter Cindy have been doing my taxes for several years. Tim's wife Patty is pleasant and helpful. They charge far less than my previous accountant did and are always available to take my call (or email). They also file electronically so I can get my refund back that much quicker. I had a problem with the local tax department last year. The gentleman there seemed annoyed that I was unable to explain an issue on my return. I asked him to call Tim's office for the answer. He did. Tim was explained what was up and got it straightened out the same day. I'm glad his daughter is working with him. I can be assured that the level of service will remain the same after Tim eventually retires. Best of luck to Laskey and Costello at their new location!
