Eddie 'N Eddie to Become Cerino's Casual Italian

The restaurant is making the switch on Aug. 1.

The "bourbon, burgers and apple pie" concept hasn’t gone exactly as well as the owners of Eddie ‘N Eddie had hoped.

That’s part of the reason why they’re switching over to an Italian-influenced menu at the primetime location at the corner of Warren Road and Detroit Avenue.

Eddie Cerino said that the restaurant will become Cerino’s Casual Italian on Aug. 1.

He’s already submitted sign and design plans to the city.

“We love the neighborhood, we love the corner that we are on but we feel our Italian concept is a better fit,” he said. “We have heard from a lot of customers that there (are) plenty of burger and bar food choices in Lakewood with more coming, but very little Italian.”

Cerino is no stranger to running successful restaurants.

His grandmother, Carrie Cerino, owned several successful bakeries around Northeast Ohio. Eddie Cerino followed in her footsteps, opening a hip burger joint in 1985 called Fast Eddie’s.

Since then, he’s opened and operated a few successful restaurants, including Pizzeria Cerino, which he still owns.

He also started, and later sold, the popular Eddie’s Creekside in Brecksville.

The city’s architectural board of review is slated to consider plans for the new restaurant this week.
