The Tale of a Foreclosed Property Renovation in Lakewood

Home renovation photographs from a formerly foreclosed property.

Greetings Lakewoodians, or is it Lakewoodites?

I would like to start off with a brief introduction as, before I dive into the details and purpose of my blog, I thought it would a good idea to at least tell a little bit about myself.

My name is Brandon Scullion and I am, and have been, a permanent resident of Lakewood since I moved back from New Jersey in 2000.  Though I moved to Lakewood in 2000, I did not own a home until December of 2007 when I bought a foreclosed property.

The house definitely needed work and major updates but it was structurally sound and had a lot of its original character. Finally my dream of fixing up my own home was at hand and I took full advantage of it and helped transform not only my house but the neighborhood as well.

As this is the first of hopefully many blog posts, I will start by explaining what my purpose is with the added disclaimer that there is a strong likelihood that this blog will morph into one that discusses many different topics – all revolving around Lakewood, Cleveland, our region, and all things in between.

My purpose(s) will be multi-faceted, though I will start out with a fairly narrow scope. The first of my few posts will be centered on my house, which I am admittedly incredibly proud.

I am excited to share it with anyone who is interested and hopefully inspire some of you to take on some of those projects that at first seem quite daunting.

So as this is an introduction to the blog itself, I am simply going to start off by introducing you to the exterior of my home from as far back as I could find, to when I bought it and through some of the phases of renovation and design.

The subsequent blogs will hopefully be in order of renovations as I spent 5 solid months gutting rooms and designing my first dream home. Soon to come will be the kitchens and bathrooms.

Enjoy.
