This Week: Alice Cooper Tribute Band Comes To The Winchester

And some weekly entertainment to brighten up your Mondays.

Welcome back Lakewood music fans. There's plenty of music happening this week, from indie pop cello players to The Nightmare, an Alice Cooper tribute band. And I've included some shows happening every Monday night, to help you ease into your week. 

Tonight Dave and Mike Pfenning of Toledo's Empire Drift play unplugged at The Avenue Tap House at 8 p.m.

Grab your six-string and stop by for an acoustic open mic night hosted by Galen Marten.

Acoustic indie musician Chris Bell delivers poppy melodies with sparse and unusual instrumentation. He ties it all together with a folksy authenticity and a drum machine. Check him out at the , 8 p.m.

Friday Echo Forte will be back at the Avenue Tap House, covering all your favorite songs, at 10 p.m.

Check out the Jo Bee Gena Band, jam rockers and High School Rock Off finalists, at . The show starts at 9 p.m. and tickets are $5.

Classic rock cover band Mixed Theory will be at Around the Corner with DJ Gilden.

At the , Cerebral Entertainment presents "Maximum Carnage," a night of the hardest metal you've heard in a while. Hardcore thrashers Bajina headline this shred-fest with Hollow Drive, Shades of Rage Autumn Burning and Mo Rage filling out the bill. Doors open at 7:30 and tickets are $7 in advance or $10 at the door.

But if you feel like all that music takes the emphasis off of the words, stop by the Root Cafe for the Root-n-Slam poetry series. 

Saturday Stop over at the Avenue Tap House and check out The Pop Rocks. This local cover band takes your favorite pop songs and turns them up to 11, practically guaranteeing your enjoyment.

If you wanted to catch a classic Alice Cooper show, but forgot where you put your time machine, then just remember to be at The Winchester at 9 p.m. The Nightmare, an Alice Cooper tribute band, has the chops and the props to deliver an authentic experience. Tickets are only $7.

Sweet Meat will be rocking at 9 p.m.

Dance and party band Velvet Shake will be at Around the Corner, keeping everyone dancing with their awesome selection of hits.

Or you could check out acoustic guitar master Jim Volk at the Root around 8 p.m.

Monday Check out folk music duo Marc and Jack as they host their own night of entertainment at 8 p.m. every Monday at the Root. They have a different guest each week, so stop by sometime.

And if you need a good laugh, catch the Chucklef*ck Comedy Showcase every Monday at bela dubby. With everyone from locals who heard a good joke to national acts working on new material, there's something for you to be happy about.
