Lakewood Library's Story Time Knows How to Celebrate Halloween

Library sets children's events for this fall.

Story Time at Lakewood Public Library just got a lot more fun.

Just in time for Halloween.

Marge Foley, who works in the children’s department, said that if children want to attend Story Time on Halloween, they can come in their scariest costumes.

Broken into different age groups, Story Time has different themes and include things such as finger puppets and songs.

The fall season runs until November 10, and a complete calendar can be found on the library's website.

Registration is required.

“I enjoy doing it,” Foley said of Story Lore, the Story Time she hosts for preschoolers.

Also, there’s still time to sign up for the spelling bee which consists of three initial competitions on Oct. 6, Oct. 13 or Oct. 20.

Then, if they pass one of the initial rounds, they will go to the competitor meet and greet on Oct. 27 and, ultimately, the championships on Nov. 4.

And there are plenty of other events scheduled:

  • Art Explosion – On Mondays from September 26November 14, kids can learn about different artists and create masterpieces of their own.
  • It’s Puzzling – From Tuesday, September 6 – Friday, May 25 challenges await your kid’s at the library’s puzzle station.
  • Strokes of Genius – Students in fourth to sixth grade can come to the library and learn about the history of creativity. Strokes of Genius takes place on Wednesdays from November 2 through December 14.
