Video: Sights and Sounds at Meet the Trucks Event

Hundreds show up for annual event at Lakewood Park.

It was hard to hear the laughter and the excitement in the voices of Lakewood children Saturday through the constant honking of huge trucks.

But make no mistake. There were hundreds of happy kids at the eighth annual Meet the Trucks event at Lakewood Park.

There were dozens of trucks from all over the county — including fire trucks, library trucks and a truck that pulled a US Coast Guard boat. Those in attendance — but mostly kids — were allowed to climb into the trucks and lay on the horn.

There were also dozens of vendors and countless activities for the little ones.

Organizers say the weather cooperated this year, which drove huge crowds out to the event.
