HGTV Shoots an Episode of 'House Hunters' in Lakewood

Details about the show's outcome will have to wait, as producers don't want to ruin the surprise.

Lakewood ought to get used to the spotlight.

After news broke last month that a , more film cameras have been spotted around town.

Last weekend, a crew from HGTV came to Lakewood in secret to shoot for an upcoming episode of the reality TV show “House Hunters.”

The show — about prospective homebuyers in their quest for a new home — will air sometime in the next several months.

Little else is known about the shoot — including the location of the home — because the show’s producers want to keep a tight lid on the result.

Patrick Vukovich, a producer for the show, confirmed that about a half-dozen crewmembers (most of whom are from the area) descended on a home somewhere in Lakewood on June 5 to shoot the segment.

The crew was also spotted around the town getting footage at places such as .

Dru Siley, the city’s assistant director of planning and development, said the shoot is just more good news for the city — after learning the Paramount is planning to shoot “Fun Size” in the city sometime this fall.

“It’s a nice affirmation for the community of those qualities that the residents of Lakewood already know about,” he said. “We have great homes, great streets and a rich visual environment and all the right elements.”
