Get Out: Eclectic Mix of Musicians Hitting the Lakewood Scene

With family friendly events and a wide variety of great shows, there's plenty to choose from in Lakewood this week.

1.

Why Go: In 1967, Ian Matthews became a founding member of the British folk rock band, Fairport Convention, and appeared on the band's first three recordings. The incredibly prolific artist continues to record and tour. He will be performing a solo acoustic show.

Where/When: Lakewood Public Library/Friday, July 15th 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate the Centennial with Lakewood Public Library’s outdoor concert series. Tonight The Champagnes will play Rock from the 50’s and 60’s. 

4. PAUL UNPLUGGED

Where/When: /Thursday, July 14th 9:00 p.m.

Why Go: Come check out the talented Paul Franks as he covers all of your favorite songs from Johnny Cash to the Plain White T’s.

5. BURNING RIVER RAMBLERS

Where/When: /Thursday, July 14th 8:00 p.m.

Why Go: In the same vein as the Dave Matthews Band, these local guys have a real groovy pop-folk sound. They’re playing every Thursday at Around the Corner this summer, which also happens to be 15 cent mussel night – if you needed another reason to go.
