Get Out: Cinco De Mayo And Beyond

Keep your fiesta going all weekend with these fun events.

Where/When: /Thursday May 5, 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Why Go: Start your fiesta off right at the Tap House, where they have food and drink specials including: Free chips and salsa, $1.00 tacos, $1.00 Bud Light Limes, $2 Margarita's and $1 off all of their draft beer. Up-and-coming alternative singer Chris Allen will be there, setting the mood with his upbeat, folk inspired originals. Bring your sombrero and don’t miss the party.

Why Go: Lakewood's biggest sale of antiques, collectibles, kitchenware, linens, decorative items, lamps, artwork, toys, games, sporting goods, tools, lawn & garden, baskets, small furniture--all at bargain prices. 

Proceeds support the programs and properties of the Lakewood Historical Society.

Where/When: /Friday May 6, 9:00 p.m.

Why Go: Diamond Dogs is a seven piece musical group that tributes the entire career of David Bowie in both Sound and Vision.  All Diamond Dogs' performances include a visual recreation of David's stage personae complete with costumes as well as other eras of his career including: the Berlin period, Serious Moonlight to the most recent Reality. 

Pricing: $7.00 ($10.00 if you’re under 21)

Where/When: /Saturday May 7, 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Why Go: If you want to check out the latest the local art scene has to offer go no further than the Screw Factory. The old Lake Erie building now houses several artists’ studios and teaching spaces, and you can see what they’ve been up to at their open studio this Saturday. Don’t miss the Umami Moto food truck in their parking lot, too. RSVP and invite your friends to the open studios event.

5.  CINCO DE MAYO KARAOKE FIESTA

Where/When: /Thursday May 5, 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

Why Go: For those who want a more DIY approach to their Cinco de Mayo, Eddy and Iggy’s has karaoke all night. Come see the best and the rest of Lakewood’s budding mariachis or hit the stage yourself after enjoying a $4.00 margarita. Three dollar well tequilas and $2.00 Coronas are also available, so there’s no excuse not to sing.
