Get Out: Beat The Heat With These Cool Events

Warm weather returns to Lakewood, so get out and do something about it.

1. 

Where/When: /Friday, June 3, 9 p.m.

Why Go: The Rick Ray Band is celebrating the release of its new album, Can't Lie Hard Enough. The Cleveland-based psychedelic, progressive, hard rock, fusion band
has opened for big name acts like Blue Oyster Cult, Peter Frampton and Average White Band.

Where/When: / Saturday, June 4, 9 a.m.

Why Go: Join the effort to clean up over 10 miles of the Rocky River. Get your feet wet, do some good and get a free lunch! Volunteers should meet at 9 a.m. at the Scenic Park Picnic area near the Emerald Necklace Marina. Trash bags will be provided, but make sure to dress for the occasion. Work boots or old shoes, long sleeves and pants are recommended. At noon, everyone will get hot dogs and snacks.

Where/When: /Saturday, June 4, 1 p.m.

Why Go: Remember how much fun gym class was? Ok, maybe not, but dodge ball still brings out the kid in us all. Youth Dodgeball for ages 7 -13 will be on the North Court and Teen/Adult Dodgeball for ages 14 and up will be on the South Court. If the event goes well, the YMCA will allot more time for dodgeball, with possible leagues starting for the summer. Best of all, it’s free and open to everyone!

Where/When: / Sunday, June 5, 4-7 p.m.

Where/When: / Thursday, June 2, 6-10 p.m.
