Follow The Leprechaun To... A Wonderful Weekend

St. Patty's comes early this year, plus all the music you want to hear in Lakewood.

Welcome to February.

It's cold; it's snowy and it's hard to find a excuse to leave the house. Good thing I found all of these great reasons to get out this weekend. Everything you need to warm your soul, from upbeat country-rock to a good old-fashioned Irish bar crawl, Lakewood has got you covered.     

Tonight Paul Franks is at the , giving all of your favorite pop songs an acoustic makeover. Franks and his guitar will be there 8 p.m. to midnight.

Bela dubby hosts Stillborn Identity, a hip-hop outfit out of Pittsburgh, as well as Greenlander and Ghostbread, some ghetto-tech noise smiths.

Friday Commander Cody stops at with his rollicking, southern-fried boogie-woogie. He and his band are known for putting on a show you won't forget, so don't miss this mix of country, rockabilly and blues. It starts at 9 p.m. and tickets are $12.

goes country with Texas native G. S. Harper, who has spent the last 20 years bringing his old timey tunes to folks all over the nation. He'll be there all night, starting around 10 p.m.

Local singer/songwriter Charlie Mosbrook is at 7 to 9 p.m., playing his blues and folk inspired originals.

Head bang the night away, starting at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 and tickets are $7 in advance or $10 at the door.

Saturday Local funny man Mike Polk Jr. celebrates the release of his new CD, "No One's Even Listening," at the Winchester. Tickets include a copy of the CD and are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. The show starts at 9 p.m.

Cats On Holiday bring their eclectic alternative rock to The Screaming Rooster from 9:30 p.m. until 1 a.m.

Jonathan Blackshire mixes pop, jazz and folk rock for an interesting and laid back sound. Catch him at Beck Cafe 7 to 9 p.m.

At Around the Corner, 400 Pieces is pumping out pop and rock from the 70's and beyond. If you're looking for a good time, they'll probably have you covered.

Boarder Block Entertainment brings you Kurt Frank, Allen Dove, Linoboylive and more at the Phantasy Night Club. Check out this collection of local MCs as they light up the mic starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 to 13.

If your Irish side just can't wait for St. Patrick's Day, a handful of West End bar owners feel your pain and have put together the first annual Follow the Leprechaun bar crawl. Meet the Guinness, Jameson and Killians girls as you follow the leprechaun from bar to bar, with free T-shirts, glasses and other giveaways at each stop. Everything starts at Noon at the and ends at the Avenue Tap House with live music from Celtic rockers Mary's Lane 6 to 9 p.m.
