Film 'Fun Size' Begins Production in Lakewood

Movie trucks rumble into town to begin adventure comedy.

You may have noticed that something is going on when the huge semi trucks rumbled into town this week, and a few streets around the city were blocked for through-traffic only.

That something is Lakewood's brush with Hollywood as production crews begin filming "Fun Size" — an adventure comedy about a girl who loses her younger brother on Halloween.

One of the reasons producers chose Arthur Avenue is because of its smooth, paved street — something very important when shooting a movie.

The immediate impact could mean a film crew of about 100 people shopping and spending money in the city. 

But Dru Siley, the assistant director of planning and development, said that it will also raise the profile of Lakewood.
