Beck Center Announces 2011-12 Schedule
New season includes four regional premieres and some big names.
A night at the prom with a quartet of 1950s dreamers. The story of an old woman who just wants to spend her last days in her own home. The improbable combination of the life story of our seventh President with two hours of punk music.
What in the world do these three stories have in common? What could they have in common? They are all part of the 2011-12 professional season at the .
“Six of our seven productions are either brand new to local audiences or have only been seen in national tours,” artistic director Scott Spence said in a news release. “As always, we are trying to offer great diversity in both titles and content.”

The season includes four regional premieres, including Race by David Mamet, and also boasts Spring Awakening, which won eight Tony Awards and features music by Duncan Sheik.
Subscriptions for the season can be purchased after May 15. Individual tickets sales begin Aug. 1.

The 2010-11 season, scheduled to end in August, has already set Beck Center sales records and been among the most successful in its history, theater officials said in a release.
