Pet of the Week: Moses

City's animal shelter has lots of pets — just like Moses — seeking a home.

Meet Moses.

This guy is unique in so many ways. If his rare and beautiful coloring doesn't impress you, his blue eyes just might.

The shelter staff thinks Moses is a Siamese-Tiger mix and about 3-4 years old. He is already neutered and a little on the chubby side, but he's not worried about it. Moses is affectionate and loves to be petted and cuddled.

Adoption hours are from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

The shelter is located at 1699 Metropark Dr. in Lakewood (in the Metroparks, just beyond the Lakewood Dog Park). Please visit the website or the blog at for more information.

The organization is asking for the public's help. The Lakewood Animal Shelter is at capacity with cats, and that means homes are needed for all of the animals — and fast. This time of year is especially difficult, because influx is high and cages are limited.

Can you — or someone you know — rescue one of these beauties, or perhaps offer up a foster home? You might just find a lifelong friend.
