Pet of the Week: Leela

City's animal shelter has lots of pets — just like Leela — seeking a home.

Leela is a bright and beautiful gal.

She is an adult, gray and pastel tortie mix who is already spayed and housebroken — making her a perfect candidate for adoption.

Leela's beautiful coloring is almost as striking as her piercing green eyes. But nothing beats this kitty's demeanor.

She loves people and will gladly snuggle up to you in exchange for a few offerings of affection — mostly in the form of petting.

Adoption hours are from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

The shelter is located at 1699 Metropark Dr. in Lakewood (in the Metroparks, just beyond the Lakewood Dog Park).
