Moms Talk: Helping a Friend Whose Child has Gone Missing

How would you respond if you had a friend in this situation?

What would you do to help a friend in need? What if that friend’s child went missing?

That’s exactly what happened to a Lakewood woman, whose daughter, Cecly Broadbent, and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Cecly’s mom, Susan, is asking the community to keep an eye out for her missing daughter. Her friends and family have been scouring the Cleveland neighborhoods where Cecly has been known to frequent.

“You never want to think this would happen to your children,” Susan said. “It’s the worst.”

Friends and family have canvassed bus stops, shelters and grocery stores looking for Cecly.

How would you support a friend going through what Susan is going through?

You could join the parents’ fight, searching for the person missing. You could take that parent out to lunch, or just give a shoulder to lean on.
