WTAM's Mike Snyder to Emcee SVDP Cleveland Friends of the Poor Walk September 28

Mike Snyder, Lakewood resident and sports anchor on Newsradio WTAM 1100’s “Wills and Snyder in the Morning,” will serve as master of ceremonies at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) Cleveland Second Annual Friends of the Poor® Walk on Saturday, September 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Richfield Woods Park, 4100 Broadview Road in Richfield, Ohio.  The fundraiser will allow community members from all walks of life to participate in a simultaneous, nationwide event to increase awareness of the numerous challenges faced by the poor, and generate significant funds earmarked for direct assistance to the area’s needy.

Snyder has served as WTAM 1100 sports director since 1990.  He is also the studio host for the Cavaliers and Browns Radio Networks.  During his career, he has been a pre- and post-game host for Indians baseball, as well as the radio voice for the Cleveland Force soccer team and Double-A Canton-Akron Indians.  He was inducted into the Ohio Broadcast Hall of Fame in 2000.

The Cleveland fundraiser is part of a national event, the SVDP USA Annual Friends of the Poor® Walk, which was held at approximately 220 locations across the country in 2012.  It attracted some 19,000 participants of all ages and backgrounds and raised more than $1.8 million for the poor.
