Salute to the Lakewood City Schools Homecoming Celebration

The Lakewood Alumni Foundation celebrates the achievements of the Lakewood City Schools with Salute to the Lakewood City Schools Homecoming Celebration weekend, Thursday, September 26 through Saturday, September 28, 2013. All proceeds from the events benefit the Lakewood Alumni Foundation and the Lakewood City Schools.

 

The weekend kicks off with the Lakewood High School Hall of Fame Ceremony, Thursday, September 26, 7 pm, at the Civic Auditorium, 14100 Franklin Blvd., Lakewood. The foundation will recognize 12 superstar athletes, alumni, and staff members. Inductees are: ATHLETIC – James Robert Bowman '93, Tom Brandt '53, Mary Harris Day '90, and Matthew Fannin '02; DISTINGUISHED – Lawyer William Beyer '62, Architect Frederick Bissinger, Jr. '60, Scientist James Butler '51 (deceased), Navy Rear Admiral Janet Russell Donovan '76, Bruce Freeman MD, PhD '61 (deceased), and retired CIA agent Robert S. Hewett '53; STAFF – Social Studies Teachers Gerry Stupiansky and Terry Q. Walker. This event is free and open to the public.

Friday, September 27, 5:30 pm, at the Lakewood Stadium North Tennis Courts, attendees can enjoy a Pregame Homecoming Tailgate Party. Tickets are $25 and include game admission to see the Lakewood Rangers take on the Bay Village Rockets, food, and beverages.

The Cocktail Supper & Silent Auction wrap up the weekend on Saturday, September 28, 7-10 pm, at The Clifton Club, 17884 Lake Rd., Lakewood. Mingle with Lakewood alumni, fans of the schools, and Hall of Fame inductees. Enjoy delicious refreshments, libations, and entertainment while bidding on several unique auction packages like a Great Lakes cruise, sporting events, lunch with Lakewood Mayor Mike Summers, and much more. Tickets are $75 ($40 tax deductible).
