I just need to see your gas bill...

Lakewood Residents Alert :If you have seen or been approached by solicitors at your home from “energy coalition”, or “Constellation Energy”, please post you experience here, or private message me.They start by asking / telling you to go get your gas bill.  That you are already signed up for their service and they just need to see you bill to make you’re “all good”.They follow up by having you call a number, from your phone and answer some questions.What they are actually doing is changing your gas AND electric service to a new company.I spotted their scam when they approached me in the driveway.  I told them I was all good and it took me several minute to get them to leave, insisting I needed to go get my gas bill…They are using very deceptive practices here and are rude and tell lies to get you to switch.They had a widow up the street confused and about to switch both her gas and electric over when I found them on her front porch.The Lakewood police were notified, showed up, and the officer I talked to said she knew exactly what I was talking about, she had them at her house last week.The Lakewood police are on the look out for these scamers and say they have no permit for soliciting in the city.If you see these people, in their blue polo shirts, in your neighborhood, or if approach your home,  call the Lakewood Police at 521-1234, no emergency.
