CLOSING MARION RAMP ? !!!!!

In a P.D. article today, the mayor of Rocky River said they are looking into closing the Marion Ramp (ramp that connects Detroit Rd to the Clifton bridge). This would be part of the plan when the new Whole Foods opens on Detroit rd. Apparently they need space for new businesses, however there are currently many empty spaces all along Detroit Rd. The elimination of this main vein to the "new and improved" business district would not only hinder Lakewood residents getting to this area, but help the bottle necked traffic which will be created by such heavily frequented stores as Whole Foods. It would also cut short the alternate route downtown via Clifton for RR, Bay, and Westlake residents who travel down Detroit Rd. This also happens to be a great short cut to I-90 westbound for many Lakewoodites...
